Makala Riley
Meet Makala Riley!
Makala graduated from Gillette College with her Associates of Science in Elementary Education, also with High Honors in May 2021. While at Gillette College Makala spent her time working hard to get the most out of her education. She participated in many extracurriculars, such as the NSLS Chapter and a Bible Study Group she started with her peers that they continued via zoom in 2020. She also participated in the College Community Choir, with the Energy City Voices and many other Students and Staff.
Makala enjoys music and expressive arts, such as sewing and baking. She has always been active in 4-H and FFA. She is an avid animal lover, since growing up on a small farm, with dogs, chickens, goats, and rabbits.
After getting her Associates and getting married in the same month Makala went on to finish her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Western Governors University. It is an online program that allowed her to stay at home with her family while finishing her degree. It also was a self-paced program, so she finished her bachelors in 18 months. After Graduation she got her dream job of being a 4-H and Youth Development Educator for the University of Wyoming Extension, here in Campbell County. She has been there a year and enjoying every minute of providing programing for the youth in Campbell County. Makala is very grateful for the support and the knowledge that she received from the Gillette College.
We wish you luck in all you do and are proud to have you as a spotlight for Gillette College
