Alisha Hart

Alisha Hart

Meet Alisha Hart!  She was awarded the Ramzi Ammari Memorial Scholarship and the Jeanette L. Heptner Scholarship!  She is currently in the Gillette College Nursing Program and is working towards her RN and BSN.  She has two sons, one is a junior in High School, and the other attending Gillette College for the Criminal Justice program to become a Police Officer.  She loves to spend time with her family, cook, work out, camp, hike, travel, and play sports like Basketball and Softball!

In the next 10 years, she would love to become a Nurse Anesthetist and have this degree under her belt.  This would result after finishing her master’s degree and is further down the road, but is her ultimate goal.  She also loves pediatrics and is interested in working within that field, maybe the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), however, this is an entirely different world than what she is currently learning.  Alisha mentions that at present, nursing school is very stressful, but it has always been of interest to her.  Out of high school, she immediately went into cosmetology and loves it, but feels pulled towards nursing.  These scholarships have helped her financially, as attending nursing school while working at the same time is very difficult.

Attending Gillette College has given Alisha studying and test-taking techniques that have helped her as she’s transitioned into the Nursing Program.  She loves learning and believes that you can never have enough education, especially within the medical field!  Words of advice for future or upcoming students within the nursing field would be to first learn Pharmacology.  She states that learning this at the same time as learning various diseases is difficult and it would be useful to have first learned Pharmacology ahead of time.  Alisha’s favorite thing about being a Gillette College student is the comradery amongst her fellow classmates and instructors.  They are very supportive, have regular meetings, and want you to succeed.  She feels that everyone works hard and has a focus on getting through things together!

Congratulations, Alisha!  The Gillette College Foundation is proud to recognize you as one of our scholarship recipients!
